Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has dismissed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s call for President William Ruto to serve only one term, terming it unworkable and insisting the President will secure a second term regardless.

Sudi maintained that President Ruto would easily win re-election and accused the former deputy president of being fixated on the one-term narrative.

“Gachagua’s one-term call against Ruto is unworkable because the President will win a second term come what may,” said Sudi.

He added that Kenya Kwanza leaders were traversing the country to ensure development projects are implemented, thereby strengthening Ruto’s electoral support.

“When I said the votes will not be enough, we will fill up with more — I didn’t mean we will fill up with extra votes. I meant we will get more people to vote for Ruto,” Sudi said.

He vowed that they would secure Ruto a landslide victory, warning Gachagua and his allies that they were in for a rude awakening.

“Right now they are crying and making noise all over, but come elections they will be shocked to the extent that many of them will be admitted to hospital, not believing that Ruto is the winner,” he said.

Sudi accused Gachagua of harbouring hatred and tribal sentiments, which he said disqualified him from national leadership.

“Every day he wakes up dreaming about Ruto and wastes time making noise all over because he has nothing else to do as Ruto serves the country,” Sudi said.

He further said Ruto had achieved significant progress in the last two years and there was no way Kenyans would be persuaded to reject him in the next election.

Sudi accused Gachagua of opposing all development efforts, including empowerment programmes aimed at uplifting ordinary citizens.

He defended his recent empowerment initiative, in which he distributed equipment and materials worth over Sh45 million, and raised an additional Sh35 million in cash.

He said Sh20 million in cash had already been distributed to small-scale traders in the area, including mama mboga and other hustlers.

“The remaining Sh15 million will be distributed under other empowerment programmes to benefit the people of Kapseret,” he added.

Sudi noted that he had been elected three times by his constituents and that his only responsibility was to serve them effectively.

“I want to make this constituency the best, and at the end everyone will have money in their pockets,” he said.

He pledged to seek more support from friends to fundraise and implement additional empowerment projects for his constituents.
