
Police in Marani Subcounty are investigating the sudden death of a man who was found seated lifeless on a chair in another person’s home on Sunday evening.
According to a police report filed at Kegogi Police Station, the area chief informed officers that a man had died inside the house of another.
The officers, accompanied by DCI personnel from Marani, rushed to the scene and found the body of John Mogire, seated lifeless on a chair in the sitting room.
“The body had no physical injuries,” the report noted.
Preliminary findings indicated that the deceased had taken shelter from the rain at the home earlier that evening at around 6 pm.
Further information gathered at the scene revealed that the deceased had a known medical history of high blood pressure, according to his wife.
The scene was processed and documented by officers, and the body was moved to Marani Level 3 Hospital Morgue pending an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Elsewhere, detectives in West Pokot County are investigating the murder of an unidentified man whose body was found beside a dam near Lomut on Sunday evening.
According to a police report filed at Lomut Police Station, the incident was reported at 5:46pm.
Upon visiting the scene, police discovered the lifeless body of an unknown male, estimated to be about 25 years old, lying next to a dry dam.
The police report noted that the man was believed to be from the Pokot tribe, although his identity had not been confirmed at the time.
“Upon examining the body, it had bruises on the face and the right eye was swollen and hence not visible. There were bruises on his back, also strangulation marks were visible,” the report said.
Police processed the scene before transferring the body to Kapenguria Referral Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
In Nairobi, detectives in Embakasi have launched an investigation into the sudden death of a 50-year-old man who was found dead inside his house in Pipeline area on Sunday night.
According to a police report filed at Kware Police Station, the incident was reported by an agent who found the deceased, identified as Isaac Njeru Matu.
The agent told police that on Sunday, at around 11pm, he received a phone call from a concerned colleague, who said Matu had reportedly been unwell and could not be reached.
Police said Kamau reported that he proceeded to the man’s residence, and upon arrival, knocked on the door but received no response.
With the help of a neighbour, he broke a window and spotted the lifeless body of Matu, lying on the floor in a pool of blood.
Police said the scene was documented by the SOC team, and preliminary observations indicated that the body had no visible physical injuries.
The body was later moved to Mama Lucy Hospital Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted to determine the cause of death.
