

A 19-year-old man was killed in a mob justice incident in Kantafu, Machakos County, on Tuesday.
According to a police report filed at KBC Police Station, the attack occurred at a house under construction located about five kilometres south of the station.
Japheth Ntharangwi Angaine, a 74-year-old man, told police he received information from members of the public that thieves were breaking and removing windows at the site. He rushed to the scene with his children.
When they arrived, they found a large crowd had already gathered and one of the suspects had been subjected to mob justice.
Officers from KBC Police Station, including detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), visited the scene and confirmed the death.
The deceased, identified as Musila Ndinda Kyengo from Mwala, had deep cuts on his head caused by a sharp object. He also had injuries to his arms and mouth.
His body was taken to Kangundo Hospital Mortuary, awaiting postmortem. The case is under investigation by DCI Matungulu.
In a separate incident in Isiolo County, another young man was seriously injured after being attacked by a mob.
The report filed at Kulamawe Police Station under OB 9/11/6/2025 said Evans Mutwiri, an 18-year-old Meru male, was brought to the station by members of the public.
He was accused of stealing a TV set, a Hoover system, and a chicken.
The suspect had a cut on his right-hand little finger and was bleeding. He also had multiple marks on his body, suspected to be from blunt force.
No stolen items were recovered. Mutwiri was rushed to Isiolo County Referral Hospital for treatment. Police are continuing investigations.
