President William Ruto is expected to attend a church service at the Church of Christ in Africa (CCA) in Makadara, Nairobi, this Sunday, June 8.
The Head of State has maintained a tradition of worshipping with various congregations across the country, often using the platforms to make political pronouncements and connect with communities at the grassroots.
Sunday’s visit to Makadara comes amid increasing political tension within the ruling Kenya Kwanza coalition and growing public criticism over the high cost of living and heavy taxation.
Ruto has recently defended his administration’s fiscal policies, urging Kenyans to be patient as reforms take shape.
His critics, including opposition figures and former allies, contend that the government is burdening citizens with unsustainable levies.
At a service in Kiambu last week, the president reiterated his commitment to reviving the economy and creating jobs, stating that “the transformation journey is on course.”
During his past church appearances, he has addressed key national issues, responded to opposition attacks, and rallied support for government programs.
Sunday’s event at CCA is expected to draw leaders from Nairobi and surrounding areas. Security has been heightened in parts of Makadara ahead of the visit.
