
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Tuesday hosted the President of Somaliland, Adirahman Mohamed Abdilahi, at his home.
In a statement on X, Raila said the president was accompanied by members of his cabinet and officials from Somaliland's liaison office in Kenya.
“Mama Ida and I hosted the President of Somaliland, HE Dr Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Ciro) at our homo,” he said.
Abdirahman described Odinga as "an esteemed statesman and one of the dearest friends of Somaliland".
“Your unwavering support for Somaliland’s aspiration to claim its rightful place among the community of nations is deeply appreciated. Your leadership and steadfast commitment to Africa’s unity and development continue to inspire us all."
The visit comes a day after Abdirahman celebrated the Somaliland National Day with the Somaliland community in Kenya at a lively event held at KICC, Nairobi.
