Man killed in attack in Magadi, Kajiado

A 20-year-old man died after he was attacked by unknown people in Magadi, Kajiado County.

Police said Brian Mwaura was headed for his house when he was confronted by unknown assailants who injured him in the head.

He was taken to a local hospital before being referred to Ngong Sub County Hospital, where he succumbed to the injuries on Saturday.

Police said they are investigating murder over the death and no arrest has been made so far.

The body is lying at a local mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.

The motive of the attack is yet to be known, police said.

And a South Sudanese female refugee died after being hit by a stone hurled by one of her sons in an altercation at the Kakuma refugee camp in Turkana County.

The incident happened on June 1 at 2 am at the Kalobeyei Village Two, police said.

The body of one Mathayo Mariata Abass, 43 was found in a thicket with head injuries.

This is after she had been hit by a stone hurled by one of her sons.

Two of her sons were fighting when she tried to intervene and stop the confrontation.

Witnesses told police one of the sons pelted his mother with stones prompting the mother to run away towards a nearby bush so as to hide.

She fell and collapsed before her body was discovered.

The assailant had by then escaped the scene, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.

In Naivasha, a man died after a huge stone fell on him at a quarry.

The incident happened at Kwa Makara-Kinamba Sub-Location and involved one Simon Manyara, 51. He was among those at the quarry excavating stones when he was killed.

Police said they arrived at the scene and found the body of the deceased covered with rock debris before moving it to the mortuary pending investigations.
