Seven roads in Nairobi will today, May 31, 2025, experience traffic interruptions due to the scheduled Mater Heart Run.
Affected roads include sections of Uhuru Highway, Haile Selassie Avenue,
Ragati Road, Hospital Road, Elgon Road, Upper Hill Road, and Bunyala Road.
The run is set to begin from the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) and go through the seven roads and have its final stop still as KICC.
"Mater Heart Run 2025 will take place on 31st May 2025, starting from the K.I.C.C. at 7:00 AM, with partial traffic interruptions expected along key Nairobi roads," the Mater Run stated in a statement on X.
The Mater Heart Run was started in 2002 as a primary
fundraising event for the Cardiac program at Mater Misericordiae Hospital.
It is an annual fundraising event in Kenya that supports the
Mater Cardiac Program, which provides cardiac care for children from
economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
It's a running event
held across multiple cities in Kenya to raise awareness and funds to
help children who need heart surgeries.
