Police in Kiambu County have arrested a suspect found in possession of cannabis following a tip-off from the public.
According to the National Police Service, officers from Ruaka Police Post carried out the operation on Thursday, May 29, 2025, in the Gacharage area of Kiambaa Sub-County.
During the raid, the officers recovered 43 rolls and approximately 2 kilograms of unprocessed cannabis (bhang).
The suspect was taken into custody and is expected to be arraigned in court on Friday, May 30.
The police commended the public for their continued vigilance and encouraged more citizens to report illegal activities.
On April 17, police in Nairobi arrested two men with 40 kilogrammes of bhang in an operation within the Karen area.
Also recovered from the suspects were 203 rolls of bhang, 100 packets of razzlers, Sh1,400 in cash and one rolling flag.
Police impounded a motorcycle that they believe the suspects were using to carry out the illegal business.
A police report said the two suspects were booked at the Industrial Area Police Station, awaiting arraignment.
Days earlier, the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) arrested two suspected bhang traffickers in Machakos County.
The operation, spearheaded by Nacada enforcement officers, followed a credible tip-off from the public.
During the raid, officers recovered a stash of illicit drugs, including 20 brooms and 87 sticks of bhang, along with drug paraphernalia such as Rizla rolling papers, scissors and cash believed to be proceeds of crime.
