Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi has appointed former Ugenya MP Christopher Odhiambo Karani to the Board of Directors of the Kenya Pipeline Company Limited.

The appointment was made through Gazette Notice No. 6483 and takes effect from May 23, 2025. Karani will serve a three-year term.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 (1) (e) of the State Corporations Act… the Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum appoints—Christopher Odhiambo Karani,” the notice states.

The Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) is a state corporation responsible for transporting, storing, and delivering petroleum products across the country.

It plays a key role in Kenya’s energy sector, ensuring fuel supply security and supporting economic activity through its infrastructure network.

Karani is a former Member of Parliament for Ugenya Constituency in Siaya County.

He lost his seat in 2018, after a Kisumu court nullified his election on grounds that the election was not properly conducted.
