Several political leaders and lawyers expressed solidarity with Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya at Milimani Law Courts on Tuesday.
The leaders included DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa, Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo, Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah and businessman Jimi Wanjigi.
Others were former UNCTCAD boss Mukhisa Kituyi, former Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi, Kabuchai MP Majimbo Kalasinga, Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni and former Tongaren MP Eseli Simiyu.
There was also a vehicle entourage escorting the Governor.
Natembeya was presented before the Milimani Courts Magistrate Charles Ondieki, where he was charged with three counts of graft, including the acquisition of public property through conflict of interest.

The charge sheet showed that Natembeya, being the governor of Trans Nzoia, acquired Sh1,127,900 from Mercy Chelangat, the director of Lyma Agro Science Limited and the proprietor of Maria Stores that had traded with the county government.
The Governor faced a second count of acquiring Sh2,124,668 from Emmanuel Wafula Masungo, who is the beneficial owner of Easterly Winds Limited that traded with the county government.
Natembeya was also charged with acquiring another Sh3,252,568 from Mercy Chelangat, being part of the funds paid to her companies by the Trans Nzoia county government, which she traded with.
The Governor pleaded not guilty to all charges.
