
A girl aged eight was found dead after a suspected murder in Theta village, Gatundu, Kiambu County.
Her body was found dumped in the middle of a tea plantation in the area.
The motive of the murder is yet to be established, police said.
Her parents said she went
missing on May 9, prompting a search that saw the body being discovered the
following day.
The body had a visible
cut on the right side of the head.
Police added that the
body had multiple stab wounds on the neck, back, and chest, and a deep cut on
the head behind the right ear, believed to be inflicted by a sharp object.
The body was moved to
Gatundu Level Five Hospital mortuary, awaiting postmortem.
No arrest has been made
so far, police said.
Elsewhere in the Kambi Mapesa
area, Kakamega County, a teacher was found dead after a suspected murder.
Police said the deceased
was a teacher at Kambi Mapesa Primary School and was identified as Evans Ambaka
Vilimu, 48.
Police said the man was
found murdered and his body dumped about 10 meters from his homestead.
The body was found with
deep cuts on the head and chin.
The scene was processed, and the body was moved to a local mortuary awaiting postmortem.
Police said no arrest has
been made, and the motive is yet to be established.
Meanwhile, police are
investigating the murder of a woman in a domestic fight in Kayole, Nairobi.
The woman was identified
as Sharon Wambui, is believed to have been killed in her house on Saturday, May
10.
The incident happened as
her child played outside the house, and the suspect is her boyfriend, who
escaped the scene.
The motive of the murder
is yet to be disclosed.
The police said they are
investigating the murder and that the woman had stab wounds in the chest and neck.
The woman worked as a waiter at a bar
in the Donholm area.
Police visited the scene
and moved the body to the mortuary pending autopsy and probe.
Her boyfriend has been missing since then, and police said he is a person of interest in the case.
