Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua held talks with the people of Embu County at his Wamunyoro home on Friday.
The delegation from Embu was led by Manyatta MP and chairman of Young Parliamentarians, Gitonga Mukunji, and other leaders.
The former DP said they underscored his commitment to a consultative approach to issues affecting Kenyans and fellow countrymen.
“At Wamunyoro Residence earlier today, I heard the people of Embu County. I will be with you every step of the way towards a better Kenya where no one is left behind,” he said.
This comes days after former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi, on April 24, led a delegation of key political leaders from the Meru region in officially joining former Gachagua’s camp.
The ex-CS was among several political heavyweights who gathered at Gachagua’s Wamunyoro residence for strategic talks, as the political landscape in the Mt. Kenya region continues to shift.
The move also highlighted Gachagua’s growing influence in the region despite his ouster.

Gachagua has declared his presidential ambitions, barring any legal hindrances.
On April 29, Gachagua met several other leaders, including former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i, for a crucial meeting as they firm up their 2027 plans.
The high-stakes meeting in Nairobi was part of a series of high-profile engagements
organised by the opposition as part of early efforts to build a national
movement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Other leaders who attended included Wiper
leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua (PLP), Eugene Wamalwa (DAP-K), Mukhisa Kituyi,
former CSs Mithika Linturi and Justin Muturi.

He, however, said that he would fully support whichever candidate the opposition agrees on if he is not chosen.
“I am vying for the presidency, as are Martha Karua, Kalonzo Musyoka, Fred Matiang’i, and Eugene Wamalwa. We are all looking for votes. In the end, we shall talk and agree to back one candidate. Even if it’s not me, I will support whoever we settle on,” he said.
