President William Ruto nominated the 14 individuals on March 20 in changes that saw some PSs assigned other roles as envoys.

The nominees include former Nyeri deputy governor Caroline Karugu, who has been nominated to the State Department for East African Community (EAC) Affairs, the Ministry of East African Community Affairs and the ASALs and Regional Development.

Also nominated are former ODM-nominated Senator Judith Pareno (Justice, Human Rights and Constitutional Affairs, Office of the Attorney General) and ex- Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union secretary general Ouma Oluga (State Department for Medical Services, Ministry of Health).

IEBC interviews
The ongoing interviews for those shortlisted for the member positions are set to continue today.
The process is on its third week, where 105 candidates are set to be grilled on their suitability for the position.
IEBC Selection Panel, chaired by Nelson Makanda.
Among those who have been featured in the list and who had also been interviewed for the chairperson post are KPLC board chairperson Joy Brenda Masinde and Erastus Ethekon.
A week ago, Parliament extended the period of the Panel by two weeks.
The 14-day extension will take effect on Monday, April 28, 2025.
Technical team on GBV collect views from Kenyans
The Technical Working Group on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and femicide will continue to receive views from key stakeholders today.
President William Ruto formed the group on January 10, 2025.
Its mandate is to assess, review, and recommend measures to strengthen the policy, legal and institutional response to GBV, including femicide in the country.

It will be held at the KICC.

On April 3, the Technical Working Group on Gender-Based Violence kicked off a countrywide public participation exercise.

The exercise was started in Nairobi.

The Technical Working Group Chair, Nancy Baraza, confirmed they had received overwhelming responses from the public.
