A boy aged 11 died after he was hit in the stomach while playing with his sibling in a village in Mutuati, Igembe North, Meru County.
The family and police said the boy was with his sibling taking care of their cattle when he was hit in the stomach with a stone.
The assailant told the family he was playing and hit the deceased with a stone.
After the incident, the now-deceased boy went home complaining of stomach pains.
The incident happened on August 30, police said.
The juvenile was taken to Kiegu Nursing Home on September 1 after the pain persisted.
He was later referred to Maua but the parents told police they did not have enough money to enable them to go to the hospital.
They instead went back home where the boy succumbed to the injuries the following day.
Police were called to the scene and moved the body to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.
Police said they are investigating the saga and intend to talk to the said assailant who is also 11 years old.
Meanwhile, police in Belgut, Kericho County are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in his house.
The man was identified as Eric Kipngetich Ngeno, 45 years old.
The cause of the death was not immediately known.
Police moved the body to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
The body was found lying in his bed in a servant quarter where he stayed alone on September 2.
Elsewhere in Matungu, Kakamega County, a 21-year-old man died after a fight with his maternal uncle following a disagreement.
According to police, Emmanuel Malinya died from injuries sustained following a fight he had with his uncle on September 2.
After the fight, Malinya did not seek medical treatment and went to bed where he succumbed hours later.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations, police said.
A search for the said assailant is ongoing.
In the Lower Kakrao sub-location, Migori County, the body of a man was found floating on a stream after a suspected mob lynching.
The body was discovered on September 2 in the Nyasare stream.
Police visited the scene, where they found the body of an unknown middle-aged man lying on the said stream with multiple fresh injuries.
The body was moved to Migori County Referral Hospital Mortuary awaiting identification and postmortem examination.
Police said they are investigating the murder and want to arrest suspects behind the same.
Police discourage mob lynching and want suspects to be surrendered to authorities for processing and possible prosecution.
