Kenyans who suffer most during livestock banditry: By gender

8 out of 13 study counties, it was the male gender that suffered most during livestock rustling.

Majority of the sample respondents (55.6 per cent) argued that those who suffer most during incidents of livestock rustling and banditry in their localities were mainly male.

However, 44.4 per cent of the sample respondents argued that it was the female gender.

County analysis showed that in 8 out of 13 study counties (that is, 61 per cent of the counties), it was the male gender that suffered most during incidents of livestock rustling and banditry.

Counties where females suffered most during incidents of livestock rustling and banditry were Isiolo (75.9 per cent), Samburu (59.4 per cent), Marsabit (59.0 per cent),Laikipia (53.4 per cent) and Baringo (50.8 per cent).
