An Eldoret resident Idah Komen has narrated how she saw people set her car ablaze during protests on Tuesday.
According to Komen, she had parked her car at the National Library owned by the Uasin Gishu where she believed it would be safe during the protests.
Four privately owned cars were burned at the library which was raided, vandalized and looted by suspected protestors.
She says she has been taken back following the incident and that she only recovered a bible that was partly burned in the car.
“I hold on to that Bible. I recovered to declare that I forgive those who burned my car and with God, I know it shall be well,” she said.
Komen said she does not blame the youth who were protesting but suspected goons who took advantage of the situation.
“Those who were protesting are like my children and everything was peaceful until goons came in,” she said,
She said she had returned to collect her car during the protests when she saw some goons raid the area and set everything on fire.
“I urge the government to listen to the youth to save our country from destruction,” she said.
She is among five people whose cars were burned during the protests in Eldoret.
Three county vehicles were also damaged.
