Former President Uhuru Kenyatta's first cousin Captain (Rtd) Kung'u Muigai has urged elders to unite the community.
Kungu spoke at Kirigiti Stadium where he had met elders for prayers.
He was reacting to a section of elders who had been holding a meeting to allegedly revive the Lari massacre
"What business do you have opening up wounds that have long healed? It means some elders are insensitive to what happened then. It needs not be revisited," he said.
"The matter was laid to rest by founding late President Jomo Kenyatta, who called a truce, but it will not be forgotten, so that never again will brothers and sisters take arms against each other."
He said that the Lari issue was long solved and should not be used to advance self-interest.
"Lari issue was a long time solved and we should not evoke those memories as they aren't helpful," he said.
He further said that the government has vowed to act on the group that has allegedly been using their name illegally.
Kiambu chairman Shamte Munyua said that elders are united and ready to lead the community.
He called on elders to promote unity and growth.
"Let remain united and speak in one voice," he said.
