The Pharmacy and Poisons Board has moved its pre-registration exams (Stage I & II) and pre-enrolment exams (Level I & II) from May 27-31, 2024 to June 17-20, 2024.

The board announced on Wednesday that factors beyond its control caused the postponement.

“The exams will be administered online, in the respective examination centres, and the PPB online services portal will be open until May 31, 2024,” the board said.

It said candidates are required to select their preferred examination centre, as indicated earlier.

“The exam centres are subject to change and candidates must regularly check the portal before the exam for any changes,” it added.

Candidates were advised to obtain a suitable computer device with internet access, fully charged, and which can store power to run for at least three hours.

“There will be mock exams to test and familiarise with the PPB online examinations portal. The dates for the mock exams will be communicated in due course. The mock exams will be done at home,” the board said.

It further said candidates with a disability or health issue that may affect their ability to sit for online exams must immediately notify the board in writing together with supporting medical evidence.

The Pharmacy and Poisons Board is the drug regulatory authority established under the Pharmacy and Poisons Act, Chapter 244 of the Laws of Kenya.

The board regulates the Practice of Pharmacy and the Manufacture and Trade of drugs and poisons.

The board aims to implement the appropriate regulatory measures to achieve the highest standards of safety, efficacy and quality for all drugs, chemical substances and medical devices, locally manufactured, imported, exported, distributed, sold, or used, to ensure the protection of the consumer as envisaged by the laws regulating drugs in force in Kenya.
