Former Migori Governor Okoth Obados's murder trial resumes for hearing today.

The case will be heard the whole of this week.

The prosecution remains with only three witnesses before it closes its case.

One of them is identified as Sergeant Hassan from Homa Bay who was in the Investigating Office when the case began.

He had had most of the exhibits and groundwork details of the case.

He is to be followed by Chief Inspector Ole Sena who will be analyzing the data presented by Safaricom and finally, Chief Inspector Clement Mwangi who is the lead Investigating officer in the matter.

In the case, the ex-county chief is among those on trial over Sharon’s murder and her unborn baby.

He has been charged alongside his assistant Michael Oyamo and clerk Caspal Obiero over the murder that took place on September 3, 2018, in Homa Bay.

Results of a DNA test conducted on the foetus conclusively showed that Obado was the father of Sharon’s unborn child.

Separately, an armed and dangerous criminal who has been conning Kenyans while impersonating EACC Detectives, as well as issuing fake Integrity Clearance Certificates to job seekers at a fee, in the names of top EACC officials, has been arrested.

The imposter, who has a conviction history and unsuccessfully vied for a Parliamentary seat in the 2022 general elections was arrested on Saturday and is currently detained at Kilimani Police Station.

He is to be arraigned at Milimani Law Courts for plea taking.
