A Nairobi court is expected to issue directions in a case in which the Rastafari Society of Kenya (RSK) is seeking to lift the law criminalising the use of marijuana.
They argue that the law is unconstitutional for banning the private use of cannabis by persons professing the Rastafari faith.
Rastafarians want to be allowed to use cannabis in their houses and places of worship.
Ex-governor Okoth Obado graft case to proceed
The corruption case against former Migori Governor Okoth Obado will continue today at the Milimani Law Courts.
The first witness, who is the Investigating Officer in the case, is still testifying, several years since the hearing began.
The matter began before then-trial magistrate Lawrence Mugambi before he was appointed a judge in 2022, and is now being heard by Senior Principal Magistrate Victor Wakhumile.
The prosecution, led by State Counsel Eva Kanyuira, said the trial was moving slowly because of language hitches and bulky documents in the custody of the investigating officer.
