Meta–owned WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature allowing users to pin multiple messages in a chat.
The feature, according to WABetaInfo, is already working for beta users of WhatsApp on Android.
WABetaInfo reported that once it is rolled out, you will be able to pin three messages with the new upgrade, which is anticipated to go from beta to public release in the upcoming weeks.
The feature allows users to pin only three messages. The oldest message will be unpinned when a user tries to pin a fourth one.
"This behaviour is enforced to maintain the limit of three pinned messages per chat, but WhatsApp may consider expanding this limit in the future in response to user behaviour and feedback,” reads the report by WABetaInfo.
“Users can now prioritize multiple content, such as important announcements, key reminders, or frequently referenced information, by pinning them at the top of the chat interface. This enhances the overall organization of conversations, making it easier for users to quickly access the most relevant content without having to scroll through the entire chat history multiple times,” WABetaInfo advised.
This is part of the updates that WhatsApp has been rolling out for its users.
In October of last year, the Meta-owned social media platform announced that Android users would no longer need to have several devices for separate accounts with its multiple accounts functionality.
To register the second account, you will need a second phone number and a SIM card, or a device that accepts multiple SIM cards.
Your active account will be the one currently logged into, while your other phone number will not be active because is not used currently.
WhatsApp says that to see the content, one will need to switch to the account, as the idle accounts will still get notifications.
Like the analogue way of customizing profiles, users with two accounts logged onto a device can customize each profile by setting a picture and a text, notification settings, and privacy settings.
Currently, the feature is only available for Android users and supports two accounts.
The app also recently launched the ability for users to preview voice notes before sending the message.
This offers a way for users to listen to a voice message to make sure that it contains the message they intend to send.
