Kanu Political affairs secretary Fred Okang'o Fred Okang'o has dispelled any claims that there may be a dispute in the coalition.

Speaking during a Friday interview with Citizen TV, Okang'o cited Raila's bid for the African Union Commission Chairmanship, noting the Azimio coalition is still intact.

"There is no break-up in Azimio. Raila Odinga said that he will still be available to Kenyans even when he goes to Addis Ababa. He is available for consultation when the people of Kenya need him," he explained.

Okang'o insisted that the coalition is still intact, saying that the reports of tension in Azimio were only speculations resulting from the political meetings that have happened between the leaders of the coalition

He rubbished claims that there are plans within Azimio to choose a leader to inherit Raila Odinga's position in the coalition.

"You cannot inherit or succeed a legend and a titan like Raila Amollo Odinga. You can only make your path and do it your way," he explained.

According to Okang'o, the idea of succeeding Raila in the coalition is a contradiction.

"In a democracy like ours where there is no emperor's tool to inherit then there is nothing to be inherited. Both Raila Odinga and the leaders in Azimio know that and none of them is trying to inherit anything," Okango said, affirming the unity in the coalition.

Rumours and allegations of a potential conflict regarding the opposition coalition's bid to succeed Azimio Leader Raila Odinga have been circulating since the leader declared his desire to run for the AU Commission Chairmanship.

He clarified that Kenyans should not engage in speculation as the meeting between Gideon Moi and Kalonzo Musyoka was merely a meeting without a press briefing.

He cautioned against media reports alleging that there will be a vacuum in Azimio if Raila is elected to serve in AU in Addis Ababa.

"There is no vacuum in Azimio, in my knowledge and estimation. There has never been any vacuum in politics and there will never be," Okang'o said.

"Somebody with the stature of Raila has planned his succession if there will be one and he knows that whoever he lives behind is capable of doing the job."
