Citizen TV journalist Chemutai Goin now says that her exit from the Royal Media Services (RMS) owned station, is a bittersweet moment.
In a video seen by the Star, Goin who spoke during a farewell party organised by colleagues at Citizen TV offices said that it is at the station where she got to be her best as a political reporter.
She stated that she intends to remain at the top, even as she moves on to something else.
"We've worked with so many people across different departments so it was nice.
"Leaving for me is bittersweet because this is where I had my wings and I went to the eagles and I think that is where I will stay and even as we go to other ventures, we will still find each other," Goin said.
The senior political reporter said that she had her time in different spaces, but it was at Citizen TV where she got to grow to where she is.
She noted that when she joined the station, she was not good at reporting in Swahili but over time she has learnt how to do it comfortably.
"I'm glad I have really grown, everyone here held my hand. I never used to report in Swahili when I came here, I can do Swahili now, my confidence went up, I could do life. I think it was the space, I had had my time in different spaces and this is it. Wacha kalamu tuipeleke kwingine kidogo tujaribu kuona how other sectors work."
Goin who reminisced the time she joined Citizen TV said she knew she was coming home.
She said that this was because she was coming to work with people she had worked with at the start of her journey into the media as an intern.
"I don't really have much to say. Today I was looking at my first sign-off that was November 21, 2018, when I first came here. I knew I was coming home. When I was an intern Yusuf was my teacher at KTN and Muraya was a senior political reporter, so I was just coming back to people that I had been with," Goin said.
Reports say that she is set to take up a new role at the National Assembly of Kenya.
