President William Ruto on Sunday met with Prince Rahim Aga Khan in Dubai.

During the meeting, the two discussed ways of deepening the cooperation between the public and private institutions.

They also deliberated on ways of enhancing the contribution of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in Kenya and East Africa, as the talks largely centred around the long development partnership spanning over six decades.

They also discussed the long relationship between Kenya and The Aga Khan.

President Ruto thanked Prince Rahim for the significant contributions of the AKDN to Kenya’s development and offered his administration's support to further strengthen the collaboration.

The talks also covered the ongoing engagement of the Ismaili Imamat in Kenya in areas of social inclusion, culture, education and early childhood development and care.

Kenya and AKDN have closely collaborated in the fields of industry, tourism, financial services, clean energy, media, health, education, community development, and infrastructure.

Prince Rahim Aga Khan was accompanied by his close advisors Sultan Allana and Suleiman Shahabuddin.

Princess Zahra is expected to call upon President Ruto later this week in Nairobi when she will attend a convocation at the Aga Khan University.

The President made a brief stop in Dubai, on his way back from Tokyo, Japan, where he had a four-day official visit last week.

He is expected back in the country, anytime now.
