His remarks comes weeks after a section of Murang'a leaders claimed that he (Ndindi) is the suitable candidate to deputise Ruto in 2027.

The leaders led by Gatanga MP Edward Muriu have since recanted the statement and declared support for Gachagua as the senior-most politician in Mt Kenya.

The Murang'a event was the first for Gachagua and Ndindi to share a pubic podium since the endorsement that sparked talks of power struggles between the two.

While speaking in Kirinyaga on Friday, Gachagua urged leaders to unite and speak with one voice for the sake of unity and development.

He urged leaders to unite and refrain from engaging in divisive political manoeuvres.

"Those scheming to divide the region should know that the people of Mt Kenya are intelligent and aware of what is happening. Those seeking to divide us are enemies of the region," he emphasised.
