It was mixed feelings at the Milimani Law Courts on Friday whenJustice Grace Nzioka pronounced the judgment on the former TV presenter Jackie Maribe and her ex-fiancé Jowie Irungu over the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.
The court found Jowie guilty of the murder and acquitted Maribe.

President Ruto's Japan State Visit
Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako hosted President William Ruto and First Lady Mama Rachel at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, Japan.
The President travelled to the country on a four-day State Visit, the first in 20 years.
The reception marked the final day of his four-day State Visit to the East Asian country.

NYS volunteer recruitment exercise
The National Youth Service conducted recruitment exercises across the country.
The exercise commenced on February 5, 2024, and ended on February 9, 2024.
The nationwide recruitment was undertaken in all sub-counties over the five-day period.
The government seeks to enlist 15, 000 recruits both men and women into the service.

Star journalist Dickens Wasonga buried
The Star journalist Dickens Wasonga was laid to rest on Friday at their home in Uyawi village, Central Sakwa in Bondo, Siaya county.
Wasonga died in a road accident at Mamboleo flyover on the Kisumu-Kakamega road on January 26.
The burial ceremony was attended by his colleagues from Radio Africa Group and fellow journalists from other media houses.

Aftermath of Embakasi gas explosion
The country on Friday woke up to the devastating news of a gas explosion that had happened in Embakasi.
The government has since confirmed that six people died in the tragedy.
Nairobi county government has said that 761 people were affected by the Thursday night gas fire in Mradi area of Embakasi.
