Information, Communication and the Digital Economy CS Eliud Owalo has revealed that serving in President William Ruto's cabinet is the first time he has been employed.

Speaking on Sunday night, Owalo said while is not something he was used to, he has also had to adapt quickly from the way things are done in the private sector to the public sector.

According to the CS, it has been quite a fruitful almost one and a half years of service, affirming that the ministry and the country are on the right trajectory.

"It has been quite fruitful, to say the least from the very onset. This is the first time that I've been employed. I have never been employed before in my life.

"In the beginning, I had to effectively manage the change process from private to public sector but I settled in quite fast because the government has its way of doing things guided by operational procedures, guidelines, and protocols which I had to get accustomed to and there is also a working culture I had to adapt to.

"So, I settled in quite fast and hit the road running and I can say without fear of contradiction that we are on the right trajectory," Owalo said on KTN News.

Owalo noted that while he had never been employed, he developed several strategic plans for the country, some in government and others parastatals.

The CS said through this, he believes that he made his contributing components to nation building.

He insisted that he did not see himself in Cabinet if Ruto won the 2022 presidential election because holding a senior position in government was not a priority to him when he chose to work with the President.

Owalo, however, said that he is glad that he has been entrusted by the President to deliver an integral part of his agenda to the people of Kenya.

"It was not my priority to get preoccupied with positions, that was not my interest.

"I'm glad that I'm in this position. I have been tasked by the President to deliver on an integral component of the overall Kenya Kwanza agenda and I'm willing and ready to serve," the ICT CS said.
