Two people killed in freak Kisii accident

Police in Kisii have confirmed the death of two people - both women - in a tragic road accident on Friday evening.

The accident occurred when a pickup rammed into the boda boda they were riding in the Daraja Moja area.

The Toyota Hilux pickup was heading to downtown Kisii from the Jogoo area when its brakes failed.

County Police Commander Charles Kases said the pickup was negotiating the intersection of the Kisii-Keroka and Kisii-Nyamira roads when it rammed into the boda boda killing the two pillions on board.

The boda boda was heading to Kisii from Keroka when the accident occured.

"The bodaboda operator, Kevin Bundi, suffered a deep cut to the head and a fracture on the left leg and was rushed to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital for treatment," he said

The pickup driver suffered bruises and is also recovering in KTRH.
