One suspect linked to the recent killings of bodaboda riders in Luanda and Emuhaya subcounties has been arrested.

The suspect was arrested in his hideout in Luanda subcounty.

The arrest came after local administrators within the locality had tipped off the area authorities who later briefed the DCI.

Vihiga county commissioner Felix Watakila confirmed the arrest citing the man is among the suspects in the recent murders in Luanda and Emuhaya.

“He is among the key suspects in the recent murders that have been taking place in Luanda and Emuhaya,” he said.

“The suspect is currently under our custody for interrogation for more information.” 

Five people have lost lives and their bikes have gone missing; only one was found at the crime scene.

During the public barasa at Mulukhoro about 150 names of the key suspects were tabled to the security agents linked to the current killing, shop breakings and robbery with violence.

“We were given about 150 names of the suspects which we handed over to the DCI who should track them and arrest them. We have been briefed that some are within Kakamega, Siaya and Kisumu,” Watakila said.
