A Cabinet Secretary angered retirees during a recent meeting when he gave them what the lot said was a drop in the ocean after they travelled at night from upcountry to meet him. The early morning meeting saw the senior citizens, some with old age health challenges, travel to the city to meet the big man with the hope that they would not go back empty-handed. They also hoped to hear a word on their pension that is overdue. But after a long pompous speech, the man gave out Sh100,000 to the group numbering more than 100, telling them it was his personal cash, not government money. He said nothing about their pension. The lot left the place cursing the man, regretting their torturous travel.
