Political Analyst Mutahi Ngunyi now wants Kenyans from the Mt Kenya region to be nice to President William Ruto.

He suggested that Kikuyu are likely to be out of the centre of political power for a long time.

Ngunyi said this is likely to happen if Mt Kenya Region does not fully support President Ruto.

"Dear Kikuyus: Mulembe nation is the second largest voting bloc in Kenya. And Ruto will mend fences with Raila. If they come together, you will be out of government for 100 years. Be nice to Ruto. He has been decent to you. Take it or leave it. The end is near!" Ngunyi said.

Currently, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is the senior political leader from the Mt Kenya region in government while from the Western Region is Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.

Some politicians have been hinting that the two leaders are having silent political wars.

A few days ago, Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale lifted the lid on the silent political tensions and mistrust between Gachagua and Mudavadi.

Khalwale, who serves as the Kenya Kwanza's Majority Whip in the Senate, threw a spanner in the works on the succession race.

The vocal UDA politician declared that President Ruto would be succeeded by a Luhya.

"Deputy President listen to me, whether you like it or not in 2032, the way Uhuru left and Ruto entered, when Ruto leaves it will be a Luhya who will enter," he said.

The MP's remarks expose the vicious wars roiling the government as regional leaders embark on early schemes to succeed Ruto.

This was the first time that a high-ranking member of Ruto's UDA was taking on the country's second-in-command and deputy party leader.
