It was all smiles and laughter when Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Thursday joined his boss President William Ruto in Kwale after a week-long foreign trip.
President Ruto is on his five-day coastal tour.
In the morning, Gachagua and Ruto were in State House Mombasa where they were seen laughing as they engaged in a chat.
The President headed to Kwale County where Ruto will be commissioning the Electricity Mini Grid in Mkwiru Village, Lunga Lunga.
Gachagua had a busy week, meeting investors, Kenyans in the diaspora and seeking new markets for local cash crops in his Europe trip.
His extended trip to Germany and Belgium saw him miss in action during the first day of the State visit by King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
Gachagua came back to the country on Tuesday evening from his official tour to Belgium and Germany.
He has been out of the country since October 24.
The DP represented President William Ruto at the Global Gateway Forum hosted by the European Commission in Brussels.
The forum aimed to strengthen relations between the European Union (EU) and its partners, Kenya included.
In Brussels, Belgium, Gachagua signed a deal with Java Coffee Company that will see the company purchase over 700,000kgs of coffee from smallholder farmers, in particular women.
In Germany, his top-level engagements will see the establishment of warehouses for Kenyan coffee for small and medium roasters.
On Sunday, the Deputy President held talks with the Mayor of Gersthofen, Michael Worle.
Gachagua, together with his wife, Dorcas Rigathi and Baringo Central MP Joshua Kandie were hosted by Worle.
The meeting, he said, aimed at exploring areas of partnership between Gersthofen City and Kenyan counties under the twinning programme.
On Wednesday, the DP chaired a cabinet sub-committee meeting.
The meeting held at his Karen residence was attended by cabinet secretaries from specific ministries in government.
The consultative meeting, according to Gachagua, was aimed at reviewing and strategizing on ways to ensure the government's agenda is fully implemented.
"For a People-centered implementation of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), inter-ministerial strategic consultations and review of decisions, this is crucial," he said.
