Politician Maina Njenga has set the record straight on how he wants Kenyans to address him.
Speaking on Wednesday, Njenga said that he is a party leader and should be addressed as an Azimio co-principal.
"As we move forward, I don't want you to address me as an Ex-Mungiki leader, I am a principal of Azimio. You should address me in a manner of good understanding. Tell these media people, they should address me as Azimio co-principal. I am a party leader," he said.
Maina Njenga said that he will soon launch a political formation during which he will unveil to Kenyans his plan.
The latest political moves by Njenga have raised eyebrows as to whether he is angling to be the Mt Kenya kingpin.
Speaking to the Star on Wednesday, Njenga said a new Mt Kenya kingpin will soon be unveiled.
He said that there will be a major event to unveil the new Mt Kenya Kingpin on December 31, 2023.
He disclosed that the event will be a mega one for the Mt Kenya region and would herald a new beginning.
According to Njenga, the event will be held in Nyeri County and will be graced by Former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"We are going to invite everybody, regardless of their political affiliation, the event will be a major one for our region, and it is our time to stand together," he said.
Njenga, however, did not disclose who Uhuru will hand over to.
"We have heard Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua talk about the unity of Mt Kenya. We saw a section of people converging in hotels, we want to meet people in public, in broad daylight, and we want to see everyone represented," he said.
"We want everybody to come, as long as they are from the mountain."
He said that people will be the ones to choose whoever they want to be the next Mt Kenya Kingpin.
