Governor Bii reshuffles top executives in Uasin Gishu county

He has moved his close ally Sammy Kotut of Health to Water and Environment.

Governor Jonathan Bii has in a surprise move reshuffled his Cabinet in Uasin Gishu and transferred four senior executives.

Among them is his close ally Sammy Kotut who he has moved from the lucrative Health docket to the les prestigious Water and Environment ministry.

Kotut swapped places with Abraham Serem, another on the governor's close allies.

Lands executive Anthony Sitienei has swapped places with Janet Kosgei of Education.

Also affected in the reshuffle is Paul Wangwe who was Chief Officer for the lucrative Clinical department in the Health docket who has swapped positions with Joyce Sang of Preventive and Promotive Health Services.

Bii signed the transfer order for the executives in the changes which had been rumoured for some time.

Kotut and Serem both played crucial roles during the campaign period for Bii leading to his win in last year's elections.

The changes come just a day after Bii suspended travel for his executives and ordered them to work within the county to effectively serve residents.

"We must ensure that we deliver on our mandate and serve the people of Uasin Gishu effectively. Time for loitering is no longer available," Bii said.

The governor has also moved to the grassroots in the county to ensure implementation of his Nguzo Kumi agenda.
