ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo and Interior PS Raymond Omollo held a consultative meeting with Nyanza professionals in Kisumu, ahead of President William Ruto's tour of the region.
The meeting also included opinion leaders from the region known to be an Opposition stronghold.
The President, during his tour, will inspect and launch several national government development projects in Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay, and Migori counties.
PS Omollo said that in Kisumu, Ruto will visit the proposed multi-billion Kabonyo Kanyagwal fisheries and aquaculture research centre in Nyando.
"The project is set to revolutionize the fishing industry in the region and will produce 7 million fingerlings annually for restocking in Lake Victoria and other fish farming initiatives," he said.
"The President will also tour a road construction project in the Muhoroni sub-county and visit the multi-billion Lake Basin Development Authority (LBDA) mall along the Kisumu-Kakamega highway."
The PS added that Ruto will also tour the Kisumu port where he is likely to commission the MV Uhuru II which was built by the Kenya Shipyard Limited.
In Homa Bay county, Ruto will tour the Mfangano ring road which is under construction, and also the Mbita-Sindo-Magunga road being done by Kenya Rural Roads Authority. He will also tour the Victory fish farms in Homa Bay.
In Migori, the head of state will meet farmers with a special focus on the sugar sub-sector, where he will articulate his administration's agenda on the same.
Ruto will also visit Rongo University, in the county.
In Siaya County, Ruto will visit technical and vocational training centres in Gem and Rarieda and launch the construction of the Bondo-Liunda road in Bondo subcounty.
The PS said the President will also have engagements with local leaders in the four counties adding that the region should be ready to welcome the head of state.
