UDA to hold National Governing Council meeting at Bomas next week

Key among the issues that will be discussed is the party's grassroots elections

The ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party is set to hold its National Governing Council meeting at the Bomas of Kenya on Friday (September 29) next week.

The NGC meeting has been convened by Secretary General Cleophas Malala in a letter seen by the Star.

According to Malala, it was at the request of their party leader, President William Ruto.

"Pursuant to and in accordance with Articles 7, 8.1(vi) (ix) and 24.5 (ii) of the United Democratic Alliance Constitution, the Secretary-General, upon request and concurrence of the Party Leader, H.E President William Ruto now and hereby convenes the National Governing Council to be held on 29th September 2023 at 9 am at Bomas of Kenya," the letter dated September 15 reads.

During the meeting, key among the issues that will be discussed is the party's grassroots elections.

President Ruto will also address the NGC on the plans of the party going forward.

"The agenda of the meeting will be;1. Preliminaries2. Chairperson’s welcoming remarks3. Address by the Party Leader4. Party Grassroots Elections.5. Any other business."

This is the first NGC meeting the party will be holding since they got elected into office in August last year.
