Humphrey Wattanga Mulongo was appointed the new Commissioner General of the Kenya Revenue Authority.

In a gazette notice dated August 22, Treasury Cabinet Secretary Njuguna Ndung'u said Mulongo will serve for a period of three years effective August 22, 2023.

Wattanga has previously worked as a member and vice chair of the Commission of Revenue Allocation (CRA) for six years following his appointment on December 31, 2016 by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He replaces Githii Mburu who resigned in February after a three-year and seven-month stint at Times Tower.
