China-Kenya film festival gets underway at Two Rivers

The occasion also marks 60 years of diplomatic ties between Kenya and China.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs, Arts and Sports has partnered with Kenya Film Commission to present the China-Kenya film festival being held at Two Rivers Mall in Nairobi.

The film festival serves as a platform to showcase the talent, creativity and diversity of Chinese and Kenyan movies, while also fostering cultural exchange and understanding between the two countries.

Guests and various stakeholders arrived at the event early to book space and seats at the Century Cinemax hall where the ceremony will take place.

Guests had to register first at the reception, and in return received giveaway gifts such as T-shirts and cups wrapped in a beautiful carrier bags.

Inside the hall, waiters entertained them with cocktails, juice, sodas and snacks such as chicken drum sticks, fish and samosas.

After the remarkable entrance, the guests had to settle inside the Cinema hall as they awaited to be entertained with songs, cultural dances and movies.

Some of the movies that the guests will be entertained to include 'One and Only' and 'The Last Supper'.

The occasion also marks 60 years of the diplomatic ties between Kenya and China.

Among those in attendance include Sports CS Ababu Namwamba, Minister of Tourism and Culture of China Hu Heping, Chinese Ambassador to Kenya Zhou Pingjian and other leaders.
