Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyoi has claimed that President William Ruto was mistreated at State House during the era of former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ruto was then Uhuru's deputy.

In an interview with Nation, the analyst claimed that Ruto used common washrooms while the rest of Uhuru's men used specially designed ones.

Ngunyi, who recently dumped Uhuru for Ruto said the mistreatment bothered him alot.

"One of the things that used to disturb me a lot, was the fact that Ruto, as Deputy President used the same washroom as the rest of us at State House," Ngunyi said.

"You come from a meeting, for instance, from Mama Ngina grounds in Mombasa during October celebrations, all of us are pressed and we end up finding ourselves crowded in the same washroom with Ruto. Some people had the privilege of using different offices."

Ngunyi claims the Chief of Staff and the Head of Public Service had a reserved washroom that was red-carpeted and with gold-coloured taps.

"I used to ask myself why wouldn't Ruto be allowed to use these red-carpeted facilities instead of coming to crowd with us in the urinal when he is really number two," he said.

Ruto's digital strategist Dennis Itumbi has however rubbished the claims.

"The Chief of Staff did not even have an office in the main building, just the Head of Public Service. Also, there was no reserved washroom for him. Uongo tu Mutahi Ngunyi, this kind of lie have no space here," he said.
