Former US President Barack Obama turned 62 today.
Obama was born on August 4, 1961, at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children in Honolulu, Hawaii to an American mother and Kenyan father, Barack Obama Sr.
His wife Michelle sent him a birthday message on Twitter terming him his favourite person. They have been married for 30 years since October 3, 1992.
"Happy birthday to my favourite thoughtful guy. Love you, always," she said.
Obama made history by becoming the first African-American US President when he beat Republican John McCain in the 2008 presidential elections with 365 electoral votes against 173.
Current President Joe Biden was his running mate including during his second bid in 2012.
Obama is the only president born outside the contiguous 48 states and served as the 44th president of the United States before handing over to Donald Trump in January 2017.
