Rwandan President Paul Kagame's daughter Ange Kagame has broken silence after she was appointed to a senior state role in the Rwandese government.
In a statement on Thursday, Ange said she is ready to serve her country.
She added that she is also prepared to make a difference in her country.
"Thank you for all the good wishes. Proud and prepared to serve and work to make a difference for our country," Ange said.
On August 1, Rwandan Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente announced that Ange Kagame had been appointed Deputy Executive Director of the Strategy and Policy Council in the office of the President.
Her appointment was announced alongside other changes and appointments effected in the Rwandese government.
The changes were approved by the Cabinet.
Before her appointment to the current role, Ange served in the same office since 2015, as a policy analyst and later senior policy analyst, in 2018.
She holds a Masters's Degree in International Affairs
