Two women arrested over death of bar patron in Kisii

Detectives in Nyanchwa, Kitutu Chache South, in Kisii, have taken into custody two female suspects in connection with the lacing of drinks with a suspected stupefying substance at a local bar leading to his death.

The two -aged between 20 and 30-were picked in Kasarani in Nairobi Sunday.

Nyanchwa OCPD Anthony Keter said the detectives had been on their trail for days since the incident.

Among the items recovered from them were assortments of electronic gadgets belonging to the deceased, Francis Kariuki, a telephony company staff.

The items include a laptop, phone and computer flash disk, all said to be belonging to deceased

Kariuki was found in a coma at Nyanchwa House residence.

He was said to have gone for a night's orgy of partying at a bar in downtown Kisii town.

"We suspect a drug overdose from the suspects killed him and they will be Tuesday get arraigned for murder," Keter told journalists.

A friend who had paid the deceased a visit reported the incident to the police sparking investigations that led to the suspects' arrests over the weekend.

Keter told journalists the officers had been probing the incident for a while now.

He said stupefying and killing innocent people using drugs was an offence punishable by law .
