Police have recovered a motorcycle that was stolen from Kitengela after the owner was found murdered on the night of July 15.
The motorcycle was recovered in Eldoret, weeks after the owner was found murdered and his body dumped along the Nkurrunka road in Kitengela.
The suspect has also been arrested.
Isinya subcounty police commander Patrick Manyasi said the police used a tracker on the stolen motorbike to arrest the suspect.
“We will be arraigning him in court on Monday, July 31, in Kajiado. We will charge him with robbery with violence and murder,” Manyasi said.
The Kitengela Boda Boda Association chairman, Geoffrey Karanja, told the Star that the body was transported to Vihiga on Friday, July 28.
“The burial will take place today on Saturday,” Karanja said.
He thanked the police for tracking down the suspect, adding that justice must be found.
The body, the police said, had injuries to the back of the head.
Police said they suspected the rider was killed as he resisted a robbery incident of his motorcycle on the night of July 15.
The suspect, who is locked up in Kitengela police station cells, the police said, has provided more details which could assist the DCI officers to make more arrests.
