At least six people were shot dead during the anti-government protests that took place on July 19, 2023.
Over 30 people were injured in separate places are nursing injuries after confrontations with the police.
According to police records, the deaths were reported in Nairobi, Wote, Nakuru and Kisumu amid fears the number of deaths will rise.
Most of the victims were shot in informal settlements in Nairobi, Nakuru, Kisumu and Makueni.
Police said they arrested more than 300 people for participating in the protests.
In Nairobi, one was shot dead in Embakasi area and another in Mathare.
At least two others were shot in Kisumu, two in Nakuru and one in Emali.
Children caught in the chaos are also nursing wounds in hospitals.
Police said the victims were hit in confrontations that ensued in the day-long incidents and those in hospitals have multiple injuries.
Former Tharaka Nithi governor aspirant found dead
Former Tharaka Nithi gubernatorial candidate Gitare Mbiuki was found dead in his car.
It is suspected that Mbiuki was either murdered or died by suicide.
He was found dead in his car parked on the roadside at the Kanyuambora area, more than 50 Kilometres from his Weru home.
Police said preliminary findings show that he shot himself in his car but the motive remains unclear.
Mbeere North police commander Eric Yego said the politician's family had confirmed that the deceased was a licenced gun holder.
Police said investigations into the incident are ongoing.
Kenyan woman arrested with 2kg of cocaine in Vietnam
A Kenyan woman was arrested by police in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam after more than 2.3 kilograms of cocaine were found hidden in her luggage.
According to Vietnamese media, the Kenyan identified as M.M.N., was detained for investigation after the airport’s baggage scanning staff discovered two bags of cocaine concealed in her suitcase on July 14.
Police officers said the bags weighed 2.34 kilograms in total and were removed from the top and bottom parts of the suitcase.
The narcotics were valued at about Sh27 million in the international market.
In Kenya, a kilo of cocaine fetches between Sh4 million and Sh5 million while in the international market, it can go as far as Sh12 million, police say.
The woman departed from Nairobi International Airport and got through two more international airports, Addis Ababa in Ethiopia and Doha in Qatar, before touching down at Tan Son Nhat in Ho Chi Minh City, investigators said.
She was arrested upon her arrival at Tan Son Nhat International Airport last week.
Gang murders Bodaboda rider in Kitengela
Police are looking for a gang that killed a bodaboda rider in a robbery in Kitengela area.
The body of Francis Esadia was found in a pool of blood with his gear on but his motorcycle was missing, police said.
The body had injuries on the back of the head which seemed to have been inflicted by the thieves.
Police said they suspect he was killed as he resisted a robbery on his motorcycle on Sunday night.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and probe.
Nyumba Kumi official shot by thugs in Kibera
Police are looking for a gang that shot and seriously wounded a man in a robbery incident in Kibera slums, Nairobi.
The victim is a member of the local community policing team.
He told police that he was in the company of his colleagues when he was confronted by two men well-known to him.
One of them who was armed with a pistol, shot him in the right thigh unprovoked in the Sunday night incident.
They then robbed him of his mobile phone and Sh500 before they fled.
He was rushed to hospital as police visited the scene and recovered two spent cartridges of 9mm.
The cartridges were sent for ballistic analysis to establish if the weapon has been used in any other crime scene.
Police believe the gang shot the man because he knew them and wanted to pass a message to him.
