Bunge la Wananchi president Calvin Okoth alias Gaucho on Friday temporarily interrupted court sessions to point at a man he alleged roughed him up during his arrest.
Gaucho stood up, raised his hand and addressed the judge alleging that the man he was pointing at slapped him first.
“That person (pointing) is the one who came with those people…He is the person who came with those people that gave me the first slap,” Gaucho said.
He was seated next to Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and other c-accused persons.
Gaucho together with the rest are accused of conspiring to commit subversive activities which are prejudicial to public order.
They allegedly committed the offence on dates between July 7 and 18, 2023 with others not before court within Nairobi City County.
According to the Cambridge Dictionary subversiveness is a behaviour or activities that try to destroy or damage something, especially an established political system.
Gaucho and Owino were granted bail by the court.
