Azimio leader Raila Odinga has described the Friday demonstrations as the grand finale.

Raila, who spoke to NTV, said the 3rd Wave of protests had entered in the semi-final phase on Thursday and will end on Friday.

"Leo ni semi finale. Itaingia kwenye finale kesho," he said.

He however did not announce the meeting grounds for the protesters in Nairobi as it has been done in the previous days.

The three-day mass protests began on Wednesday, July 19, with Azimio calling upon Kenyans to march to the streets to show their displeasure with the government.

The Coalition has raised four grievances that it needs the Kenya Kwanza administration to address.

They include the high cost of living, the auditing of the August 2022 presidential election, the end of political party poaching and the reconstitution of IEBC.

Azimio also accused the government of slowly evolving into a dictatorship.

"We appeal to Kenyans to take very seriously the unfolding chain of events. A new dictatorship is slowly taking root. We call on Kenyans to put on their old armour of courage and work to take their country before this dictatorship takes firm roots."

Raila called on the protesters to heed his call for peaceful demonstrations and desist from causing trouble.

"We urge our people to obey the law and respect private and public property in the course of the protest. We maintain that our activities are peaceful until the police decide to break them up with bullets and teargas," he said.

On Wednesday, various parts of the country including Nairobi, Kisumu, Nakuru, Siaya, Homa Bay and Makueni took part in the demos.

Some 304 people were arrested during the day including nine Azimio leaders.

Police records on Thursday morning showed that at least six people were shot dead and 30 others injured in separate places across the country in the protests on Wednesday.

The deaths were reported in Nairobi, Wote, Nakuru and Kisumu.

The number in Kisumu rose to two in the course of the day.

Over 30 people sustained injuries after confrontations with the police.

Most of the victims were shot in informal settlements in Nairobi, Nakuru, Kisumu and Makueni.
