United Democratic Alliance (UDA) secretary general Cleophas Malala has poked holes into a video of Azimio leader Raila Odinga taking a public service vehicle to work.

In a statement reacting to the same, Malala said the video was just another gimmick to fool Kenyans.

He asked why the former Prime Minister was surrounded by well-trained police officers and had high-end vehicles waiting for him.

Malala also asked which office he was heading to.

"Another normal sarakasi to hoodwink people. Which Kenyan walks to work surrounded by well-trained officers and government-fuelled vehicles following and waiting for him? And which workstation was Raila Odinga and Azimio reporting to?" the UDA SG asked.

On Monday, Raila made true his call to Kenyans to walk to work, carpool or use public service vehicles to deal with the high cost of living.

The Azimio leader ditched his high-end vehicles and opted to take a matatu to work.

In a video, the former Prime Minister was seen walking from his home to a bus stop, where he engages Kenyans, buys newspapers, and then boards a matatu.

"Embracing the convenience and camaraderie of public transport heading to work this morning," Raila said.

He was accompanied by his Azimio allies and aides.

On June 27, Raila, during a Kamukunji rally urged Kenyans to walk to work in order to deny President William Ruto government fuel tax.
