Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance coalition will hold another countrywide protest on Wednesday.

In a press briefing read by National Assembly Minority leader Opiyo Wandayi, which was attended by ODM leader Raila Odinga, said they will not stop until they are heard.

"We have simply notified you (police)that come next Wednesday the whole country will come to a standstill as Kenyans of all walks of life participate in massive demonstrations in every width and breadth of the country," he said.

He added that the demonstrations in Nairobi will be preceded by a rally at Kamukunji grounds.

The Azimio leaders spoke at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation where they addressed the media after the conclusion of the Saba Saba protests.

Wandayi noted that they only notified the police so protesters and assemblers can get security.

"We are not giving a notice as a way of seeking permission from anybody, least of all the police," he added.

Echoing Wandayi, Raila said the July 7 protests were just the beginning of a "struggle that will end up in victory".

He thanked his supporters for showing up and holding peaceful demonstrations.

Raila had called for a Saba Saba rally which marked the beginning of civil disobedience aimed at denying President William Ruto taxes.

This is after the Finance Bill 2023 was signed into law. Raila urged Kenyans to avoid unnecessary travel, carpool and walk to work to reduce the purchase of fuel.

With the call on civil disobedience, Raila also hoped to cause the revocation of the Finance Act.

"There is no other option left. We must fight. We are going to fight until the Finance Act is repealed. We will adopt a series of acts of civil disobedience to force this regime to recognise that we, the people are supreme," Raila said on June 27.
