Second Lady Pastor Dorcas Gachagua has elaborated on the importance of marriage certificates for couples.
Speaking at the Kenya School of Government on Sunday, Dorcas said marriage works best when God is at the centre.
“Marriage does not work because of the certificate. The reason that the certificate is important is to secure your family, your wife, your children and their future,” Dorcas said.
She said that her main goal is to establish strong and stable families in the country.
“We are on course in the preparation of solemnising marriages of our uniformed and disciplined officer’s matrimony. This is part of the plan of my office under the Family values and chaplaincy pillar,” Dorcas said.
She insisted that she must bring to an end the anguish wives and children go through while trying to access benefits in the unfortunate events of the death of servicemen.
“There is value in a family. When all is done, the officers will retire to their families, and we must cultivate better family relations,” Dorcas said.
The officers were also taken through the marriage registration process by the office of the Registrar of Marriages.
