Azimio La Umoja One Kenya has given Kenya Kwanza until midnight to address their concerns or have the bipartisan talks suspended.
Addressing the press on Tuesday after a parliamentary group meeting chaired by Azimio leader Raila Odinga, National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi said Kenya Kwanza is yet to make progress on the issues they raised.
"Kenya Kwanza has until midnight Tuesday, otherwise the talks remain suspended," Wandayi said.
The MP said while they were in receipt of a letter from co-chair George Murugara-UDA- expressing willingness on some matters, the coalition remains apprehensive of Kenya Kwanza's commitment.
The talks were put on hold a week ago after Azimio claimed that the government side had not addressed their concerns that include the suspension of the ongoing process for the recruitment of IEBC commissioners.
"We reviewed and noted the contents of the letter and resolved that Kenya Kwanza is yet to address itself to all the issues we raised," Azimio said.
Besides suspending the operations of the IEBC selection panel, Azimio also wanted Kenya Kwanza to address the issue of the high cost of living and opening of the election servers.
However, Wandayi said Kenya Kwanza had expressed willingness to write to the IEBC to 'remind them of their constitutional mandate on the servers'.
This, Azimio said does not suffice as it does not say whether the servers will be opened or not.
